Dolphins introduce Gates as new head coach

Gase did not play college football. Gase, in fact, was the only staffer Saban took with him from Michigan State when he left for LSU.

Adam Gase was part of the Denver Broncos’ coaching family for six seasons.

Crennel went 24-40 in four seasons, posting a 10-6 mark in 2007.

Of course, as soon as the Bears season ended, Gase was back on the interviewing trail, and has officially interviewed with several teams, including the Miami Dolphins.

Gase was also rumored to be the favorite for the Eagles head coaching vacancy, but it looks like the Dolphins were just quicker.

The move to get Gase happened quickly. He also was familiar with Tannenbaum before the interview process.

“It’s going to start with the right people”, Gase said Saturday. He then became John Fox’s quarterbacks coach from 2011-12, when he helped teach first Tim Tebow to a magical playoff run and then Peyton Manning through his exciting comeback season.

Gase did not make any predictions on Ryan Tannehill and admitted to not seeing a lot of film on the quarterback but said that it will all be about evaluation, of all the players. I’ve seen him get fired up a couple of times but a lot of times he’s very calm and relaxed. Talk surfaced yesterday that they were flying him in; this morning, it became clear that they were going to sign him, though some said it may not happen until Monday or Tuesday. Ross attributed some of the dysfunction in the past to murky flow charts on the organization’s power structure. He has no head coaching experience but has been a target of coaching searches for at least three years. Loggains is now the Bears’ quarterback coach but did receive an endorsement from Cutler this past week.

According to NFL.com, the Miami Dolphins on Saturday made the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator their new head coach, the team announced.

San Francisco is expected to interview Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson on Sunday, though his agent, John Thornton, hasn’t returned requests to confirm the meeting. “He has worked extremely hard his entire career and is very deserving of this opportunity”.

Said Cutler: “I wish he could stay with us in Chicago….” He will now continue to have success in this league as a head coach.

During his two seasons as offensive coordinator, seven players from the Broncos offense were named to the Pro Bowl: RB C.J. Anderson (2014), T Ryan Clady (2014), Manning (2013-14), WR Emmanuel Sanders (2014), WR Demaryius Thomas (2013-14), TE Julius Thomas (2013-14) and G Louis Vasquez (2013).
