Planned Parenthood backing Clinton in primary race
Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, was in New Hampshire Sunday and said the organization did interviews with all of the Democratic candidates.
COLUMBIA ─ The director of South Carolina’s health agency is suggesting changes to state abortion law, including a clarification that the sale or donation with reimbursement of fetal tissue is illegal.
In the organization’s 100-year history, it has never endorsed a candidate in a primary election.
When it comes to civil rights, Hillary Rodham Clinton engages in a deplorable double standard, considering her remarks Sunday during an appearance before Planned Parenthood to get their endorsement, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
Clinton has received a significant amount of campaign contributions from Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, and was a recipient of the group’s Margaret Sanger Award. Senator Cruz has been a fierce opponent of Planned Parenthood and has consistently vowed to defund the nonprofit. Planned Parenthood serves a bigger share of women who need publicly funded birth control than any other so-called safety net caregiver.
Hillary isn’t the only pro-reproductive health candidate running – but at the end of the day, she hasn’t just defended the rights we have, she’s made fighting to expand access to reproductive health and rights the driving force of her political career. However, she maintains it’s more likely that legislators will continue to chip away at women’s health rights. There is a true and violent war being waged against women in these countries. Planned Parenthood’s nod to Clinton came just hours after GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Hillary is married to “an abuser”. If Planned Parenthood – an organization embroiled in controversy – is her champion, some voters will not doubt beware.
However, the visitor’s section of the Planned Parenthood Facebook Action page now also contains messages from Sanders’ supporters and disappointed voters.
Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report offers even more evidence that public scrutiny what the funding is being used for is necessary. The group plans to spend at least $20 million in the 2016 campaign. “Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion business and has been under investigation in recent months for its role in harvesting and profiting off of the organs of aborted children”.
The House and Senate already this year have passed legislation to block federal funding for Planned Parenthood, showing Republicans will not yield in their efforts to defund the organization.
In a statement last week, the abortion giant announced that it is kicking off the presidential primary by backing the Democratic hopeful, noting that Clinton will stand by Planned Parenthood- no matter what.
