Jurgen Klopp sees Liverpool’s injuries ease ahead of Arsenal clash
Many Premier League clubs made several alterations for their respective FA Cup third-round ties, but Wenger insisted clubs must be prepared to try to win every tournament they enter.
“He always had my biggest respect but now it’s a little bit bigger since I’m here”. That’s really a brilliant job he’s done – 19-and-a-half years.
“They had a very strong manager before, they have a very strong one now and Klopp has the personality to do well there”.
“But you don’t have to follow the path of Pato – that’s private advice!” He’s a football maniac!
He said: “I could say the truth and it is no, but because I don’t want to say about all of these then I will say we won’t say anything until a contract is signed”.
The Reds have lost several players to injuries in the last few weeks and were forced to start the likes of Tiago Ilori and Jose Enrique in the FA Cup match against Exeter City. They will show us they are ambitious this season.
He continued: “In this moment, we are really looking forward to it. We’re excited, it’s a good moment”.
Jurgen Klopp says he has more and more respect for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
“The situation is better than it was two or three days ago because I think Kolo will be available, so we will have a senior centre-back”, he told reporters yesterday.
Klopp has faced Wenger on numerous occasions while with Borussia Dortmund – winning once, losing once and drawing on two other occasions in the Champions League.
“Arsenal and Arsene have their own style”, he said.
Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Jordon Ibe should also return but Klopp’s attacking options are once again limited after Divock Origi suffered a fresh knee injury.
Pato is keen to move to the Premier League, with the player himself saying he always wanted to play there at some stage.
“A very good season and the player can leave, a very bad one and the club might let the player leave, so anything can happen”.
Despite having a team rattled with injury, Klopp is confident that his squad will be able to match-up to Arsenal on Wednesday night.
“We should not talk too much about my experiences of playing against Arsenal”, he said at his pre-match media conference.
But Klopp has an excellent record this season against the Premier League’s high-flyers.
