Joe Biden: Barack Obama offered financial help during Beau Biden’s illness
Mr Biden, 73, announced in October he would not run for president after wrestling with doubts about whether he and his family were ready for a gruelling campaign while still mourning Beau’s death.
The vice-president told Obama that he’d been worrying about how to ensure that his son’s family was taken care of, should Beau stop drawing a salary.
