Sylvester Stallone wins by a knockout — Golden Globes

“So that took the pressure off my shoulders before I even got to set”. I said, ‘This is probably going to be the last decent film of this genre that I’m going to do as a solo act.’ When that was accomplished, I never felt the same willingness to do it again. “I was a kind of a peripatetic actor, on the road all the time, and I wasn’t really in the moment [when they were growing up]”.
You can see it in the video, but the crowd erupted into a standing ovation when Stallone’s name was read, with a beaming Quentin Tarantino and Michael B. Jordan cheering him on.
Ryan’s plus-one to the premiere was his father, Ira Coogler. “But I don’t know how that translates to running the world”, he said with a laugh.
“I was promising myself that I would be very aware the whole time, but as you can tell, I got very caught up in emotion”.
“I think for Rocky fans, there’s certainly a lot there in that it feels like a classic Rocky film, and then I think it also brings in a new generation”.
The 69-year-old action icon – who reprises his legendary role as Rocky Balboa in the latest installment of his boxing franchise – looked very smart and understandably proud as he appeared on the red carpet in London.
The Oscar-winning actor, who played an astronaut stranded on Mars in the blockbuster film, bested Christian Bale and Steve Carell from “The Big Short”, Al Pacino for “Danny Collins” and Mark Ruffalo for “Infinitely Polar Bear”. “So it’s very exciting”. “I was hoping it would be a game-changer, but the feedback from the studio was that it confused people”, Stallone said.
Creed will be released in cinemas across the United Kingdom on 15th January 2016.
