Chelsea boss admits possible striker signing due to lack of options
Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has revealed that he will not mollycoddle Eden Hazard in an attempt to get the best out of the winger again.
West Brom manager Tony Pulis, meanwhile, has bristled at the suggestion that Guus Hiddink was responsible for a turnaround and better style of football at Chelsea.
“Right now I’m happy to play anywhere – right-back, left-back, wherever!” said Loftus-Cheek, when asked his preferred midfield role. “I like it very much when people in charge of this club are not just always having a message but are also coming to enjoy it, to see the training and have lunch or a cup of coffee with the players”.
“He has won trophies but this season he has had some physical problems”.
Hazard’s woes started on the opening day of the campaign when he was the player treated by former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro in the match against Swansea City.
Chelsea, while they were scarcely used under Jose Mourinho, have some of the most exciting prospects in the game on their books too.
Hiddink’s arrival has coincided with an upturn in fortunes with Chelsea unbeaten in four league games since Jose Mourinho’s departure, but the Blues remain 13 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.
“I will not hesitate whenever possible to bring in youngsters as well”.
Radamel Falcao remains sidelined for the foreseeable future and parent club Monaco have ruled out recalling him from his loan spell due to his fitness issues. They all have an individual approach.
An easy option for the Blues would be to bring in Patrick Bamford from the youth team, but Hiddink seems adamant that the youngster needs more time before he can adapt to the English top flight. He has to enjoy it and get rid of the physical problems then he will come into his normal shape. I know they drew, but the replay is a game they don’t need.
“What you said was disrespectful to Mourinho and also the players that won the league last year because they played some great football last year, some fantastic football”. “He will stay at least until the end of the season and further on”.
