Van Gaal bored by his team’s play
“Against Chelsea I have enjoyed it but the result was 0-0 and we could have lost”, Van Gaal said. “There are many reasons why someone might leave early”.
“There are matches I have enjoyed”, Van Gaal said. You can be very negative, but we are in the next round, won two matches out of a very bad period. “But we are in the next round”.
Following on from United’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup at the weekend, a game in which a late Wayne Rooney penalty secured their place in the fourth round, the critics have been out in force again.
Louis van Gaal has admitted that even he has become “very bored” by his Manchester United side’s tiresome displays this season. “Do you want that?”
A long-range effort from Memphis Depay on 66 minutes was greeted with ironic cheers from the Old Trafford faithful, but Van Gaal says he shares the fans discontent. “Ok, I see their game against Arsenal and they played very well”.
After the match, a less than complimentary video emerged on Twitter that showed what one United fan thought of his team’s showing…
On the match, Blades manager Nigel Adkins has said, “A replay at Bramall Lane would have been fantastic for us…”
Manchester United’s build-up play is so slow Paul Scholes would still be their best player if he came out of retirement, according to Ian Wright.
“I am not concerned (about defending more than attacking)”.
“It’s a process I’ve said that many, many times”.
The team was booed off the pitch at halftime and thousands of fans left early.
“We have won two times in a row and maybe it shall give us a boost”. The Red Devils hosted Sheffield United, now in the middle of the table in League One, and struggled considerably more than they should have.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal walks off dejected after the game against Norwich City at Old Trafford on December 19, 2015.
The United boss told MUTV: “Bastian is injured, that we know”.
Van Gaal insists the former winger who symbolised United’s attacking traditions with his playing style, does have serious input when it comes to the team’s current tactics, though.
