‘Legends of Tomorrow’ to Give Television Debut to Character Jonah Hex
“Ever since we decided that Legends would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West”, Guggenheim told EW.
In the DC Comics, Jonah Hex is an infamous bounty hunter in the 19th century Western frontier.
Even in light of all the comic book territory already covered by The Flash and Arrow, The CW’s new series Legends of Tomorrow looks really ambitious. Speaking of things that WB would like for you to forget, the last time we saw Jonah Hex in live action, he was played by Josh Brolin in a movie that co-starred Megan Fox. He said that when doing a story set in the Old West using the DC universe there is no question that Jonah Hex must be incorporated into the series in some manner.
Set for 16 episodes, thus far we know Legends of Tomorrow will include among its cast Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh), Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Caity Lotz, time-traveler Rip Hunter (Doctor Who alum Arthur Darvill), Valentina Vostok (Stephanie Corneliussen) and DC big bad Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).
Jonah Hex first appeared in All-Star Western #10 in 1972, where he was created by John Albana and Tony DeZuniga.
Casting for the role has yet to be announced, but he’ll make his debut in episode 11 of “Legends”, with the possibility of recurring. That remains to be seen.
Legends of Tomorrow premieres on the CW on January 21st.
It remains to be seen whether or not Legends of Tomorrow will turn these two into heroes, but the footage in the videos above and below definitely points to them using this team for their own gain and to have a lot fun tearing through time.
