Steelers hope Roethlisberger, Brown can play against Broncos
Tomlin said team will manage him day-to-day this week and that he would probably be limited on Wednesday.
Raj Sharan with 104.3 The Fan in Denver called into the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to help preview this Sunday’s Broncos-Steelers matchup. Tomlin said Tuesday that Williams still “on the outside looking in”. “Nine years together, that’s reasonable”. Jones was then hit with another personal foul penalty, which put the Steelers in position to kick a game-winning field goal. This is the healthiest that he’s been, at least this season.
As for running back DeAngelo Williams, who missed the Wildcard Round with a foot injury, NFL Newtork’s Ian Rapoport doesn’t sound optimistic that he’ll be ready for the game in Denver.
Tomlin might want to consider replacing his “next man up” mantra with “last man up” considering the circumstances.
Adam Jones thinks Antonio Brown needs a “Grammy” for the way he acted when he potentially got a concussion on Saturday night. “We’ll do what’s right when all is said and done”.
He caught 16 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns for the Steelers in a December 20 win at home over the Broncos.
Yet his immediate future became uncertain when Burfict lowered his right shoulder into Brown’s head while the receiver attempted to make a leaping grab on Pittsburgh’s final drive.
The NFL said nothing about spitting in its announcement of Burfict’s three-game suspension, which presumably means the league wasn’t aware of the allegations at the time it suspended him.
“I think he was just trying to make a play”, Roethlisberger said. I promise you: “24 hours before the game”. He also said Brown winked at the Bengals when leaving the field after going down with the injury.
