One Direction calling it quits — permanently
But now, it looks like the hiatus won’t be temporary; One Direction are no more.
The foursome “will split”, writes the magazine, explaining that One Direction chose “not to renew their recording contract” after wrapping up their latest tour in October.
Meanwhile Harry, 21, has been working hard on his solo material and recently registered new songs with ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). What it came down to was each member just needed some time off to see family, friend and “reflect what we’ve done over the last few years”. Liam Payne is reportedly hoping to become a producer and songwriter, while Harry Styles wants to get into acting.
But what will the future hold for the band if they do part ways? After nearly six years as a group, the One Direction guys are ready to have their own individual fame.
The group, minus Zayn Malik who quit in March, announced their hiatus in August but assured fans it was not over for them. “The 1D thing just ran its course”, apparently, “[and] they’ll remain friends, but they are exhausted”. At the end of past year, they voiced their decision, but they asked their fans to wait for them, because they would be back after an 18 month break. Initially, One Direction was made famous on The X Factor in the United Kingdom.
Louis also took to social media to clarify: ‘Your support is truly indescribable!
Would you buy any of the 1D boys’ solo music?
“Brunette Niall is upon us everyone take a moment”, another tweeted.
