Trump Returns to N.H. for Daytime Rally
In Iowa, Trump now is slightly ahead of Cruz, who was leading in the Hawkeye State and has been a strong second to Trump in national polls.
According to the news site, legal scholars agree with Cruz’s description, maintaining that foreign-born children of US citizen parents are “natural born citizens”, a status all USA presidents must hold. Trump referred to the fact that the Constitution says “No Person except a natural born Citizen” – whatever that means – is eligible to be president.
Cruz was born in Canada, but his mother was born in Delaware.
Mechler, a member of the Republican National Committee’s rules committee, had planned to raise the idea during the RNC’s winter meeting, which begins Tuesday in Charleston, S.C. The rules change, he said, would have eliminated “those four states’ ability to go first”, referring to Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. “I don’t know. Nobody knows”.

But despite Cruz’s insistence on the Howie Carr Show that he doesn’t “intend to respond or to reciprocate” to the attacks, or “go into the mud”, the firebrand senator didn’t pass up any opportunities to hit back at Trump during his interview.
Donald Trump ejected a man from a rally after he called the Republican presidential front-runner “boring”, an incident that comes close on the heels of a Muslim woman’s removal from his campaign event for protesting silently.
Donald Trump (left) and Ted Cruz (right) appear on stage at the CNN Republican Presidential Debate in Simi Valley, California on September 16, 2015. At 46 percent, Trump supporters are the most likely to say they are locked in on their choice.
A Cruz aide, earlier in the day, denied to NBC News that the line of attack has hurt the candidate, saying of the charge “We haven’t seen any evidence it’s resonating”.
Most people, of course, consider Ted Cruz’s birth to an American mother-thus making him an American citizen at birth-to be conclusive. She said she would vote for Trump but not Cruz if the senator gets the nomination. “He’s got to have this thing worked out”.
The Iowa GOP Caucus is February 1, along with the Democrats’, and the Public Policy Polling survey queried 530 likely Republican caucus-goers January 8-10.
