Blair Walsh and the 10 worst kicker moments in National Football League playoff history
Following the game, Walsh received several threats of personal violence and wishes of ill following the miss, but the Minnesota Vikings kicker found support and condolences from a group of first-graders at Northpoint Elementary in Blaine, Minnesota. In fact, Walsh’s field goal miss may not even be the worst in Vikings history (more on that later). He was pretty good in last weekend’s NFC wild-card game, hitting three field goals in the frigid cold until, well, we all know what happened. They sent along some truly sweet words, like, “Keep on trying. I know you’ll help the Vikings next time”. That’s a wonderful lesson for her kids and it has to be a pick-me-up for Walsh.
Another letter pointed out that Walsh is still handsome, and that football is just a game.
Kids at a Minnesota school are sending some encouragement to Vikings kicker Blair Walsh. We all make terrible mistakes, only ours usually don’t involve the world stage and an entire state of people riding on it. I’m sure Blair and his family don’t need your insistence on feeling miserable right now, and there’s probably nothing you could do to him that he hasn’t already thought of doing to himself anyway. Everybody makes mistakes. Your team still appreciates you.
What do they have to say to the Vikings’ kicker? Everyone makes mistakes sometimes.
