The Nissan Titan Warrior truck concept is one mean machine
In celebration of this all-new pickup, Nissan has revealed a concept version of the Titan XD at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. It was conceived at Nissan Design America’s design office in La Jolla, and southern California has always been the home of off-road racing.
Nissan is quite proud of its new Titan XD, and rightfully so.
Public days for the 2016 North American International Auto Show, which is held at Cobo Hall, are January 16-24. Last week, Renault-Nissan Alliance chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn announced the two companies would launch more than 10 vehicles with autonomous drive technology by 2020.
Brian Leon With a 3-inch lift to clear rocks, shrubs and just about anything else that might get in your way, the Titan Warrior was created to be an offroad beast.
Beneath stood an imposing bohemoth of a truck, the Titan Warrior concept vehicle.
The Titan Warrior has an attractive and aggressive stance that resembles that of the Raptor.
For all of its extreme angles, the truck is built off of the Titan XD Crew Cab’s standard wheelbase and length. Other features on the concept includes a more pronounced grille, enhanced LED headlights, LED off-road lights being mounted on the roof and functional hood vents. A large skidplate resides beneath the front air dam, interlocking with the front bumper, and custom LED lights at every corner add to the futuristic fray as Nissan’s unique “boomerang lights” adorn all of the truck’s lenses, and carry with them a more robotic feel.
Designated as “modern armor” by the Nissan design team responsible for the Titan’s development, the chiseled body panels are painted with a custom “Thunder” matte-gunmetal color and “Magma” orange and black highlights. There’s also a quad-tipped exhaust integrated within the bumper, and carbon-fiber spoilers on the tailgate and rear cab.
With a 390-horsepower, 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8, the Titan Warrior concept features an eye-catching style upgrade over the base Titan XD model. Internal bypass reservoir coil-over shocks, tie-rod extensions, and hydraulic pressurized bump stops complete the package.
