Browns Hire Hue Jackson As Coach, Team’s 8th Since 1999

New Browns Coach Hue Jackson answers questions during a news conference Wednesday. Obviously Jimmy and Dee Haslam for this opportunity, going through the process of meeting [team executives] Sashi Brown and Paul DePodesta. Jackson has experience as a head coach, knows the AFC North and has fixed quarterbacks. This is a good hire for the Browns organization as they not only get a good coach but someone familiar with the AFC North.

Jackson said he’s confident he can turn around the floundering franchise even though no one else has been able.

Jackson doesn’t mind the mess.

“I came here to win”, he said.

“We certainly are glad that we found Hue”, Brown said. In November, not long after the Browns made a decision to let him finish out the season as starting quarterback and see how he’d grown as a player, Manziel went to Austin, Texas to party, after he told Browns coaches that he would lay low.

“I don’t know Johnny personally”, Jackson said. I want to make sure I know what we’re going to put on our team, but at the same time, get me players, I can coach ’em.

With a record of 3-13, it’s the worst season the Browns have had since 1999.
