Cruz on White House Eligibility: It’s Settled Law
He declined direct comment on Tuesday, responding to Trump with a dash of dismissive web humour: a Twitter link to a video clip of Fonzie from Happy Days jumping the shark. The image, as the Post says, has become a symbol of something that’s been overdone.
There have been recent signs of tension.
“That’s bad. I’m admonishing you for the press, get him the hell out of there!” “Just remember that… just remember”.
Earnest – who is President Barack Obama’s top spokesman – said that it’d be amusing for Republican voters to back the Canadian-born senator after some conservative conspiracy theorists questioned Obama’s own birthplace. He repeatedly said he is hearing chatter on the topic among voices on the right. Early previous year, Trump said in an interview that the issue could be a “serious hurdle” for Cruz.

Most legal scholars argue that a natural-born citizen is one who does not have to be naturalized to obtain citizenship, but rather, one who is a citizen by birth.
“It’s a problem for him, and it’s a problem obviously for the Republicans”, Trump said during a wide-ranging interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
The question circulates because Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, on December 22, 1970, to his Delaware-born mother Eleanor Darragh and Cuban-born father.
