New Academy Awards Posters and Promos Released Ahead of Nominations Announcement

There has been very little award consideration for Michael B. Jordan’s excellent performance in “Creed” and while some are predicting a Best Picture nomination for “Straight Outta Compton”, that would still be surprising. But the film could walk away with the most wins, simply because it’s likely to receive the most nominations.

In the Makeup and Hairstyling category are Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant and The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared. Stallone has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in numerous award ceremonies for this revival of Rocky, and he even took home the Golden Globe this year.

“The Martian”, Ridley Scott’s sci-fi adventure with Matt Damon, racked up seven nominations, including best picture.

The Oscar nominees for actor have been announced in Beverly Hills, California.

So far, the Golden Globes have hinted at who might be leading the pack, as Alejandro Inarritu’s The Revenant cleaned up at the Globes and seems poised for a big Oscar sweep.

Supporting Actress nominees are Jennifer Lason Leigh, Rooney Mara, Rachel McAdams, Alicia Vikander and Kate Winslet.
