Celebrities React To Death Of Legendary Rock Singer David Bowie

A day after David Bowie lost his secret 18-month battle to cancer, his music played on.

On Amazon, the three top selling albums are all by Bowie.

“David Bowie was one of the most important and influential songwriters and performers ever and, like so many fans around the world, we’re devastated to hear of his loss”, said BRITs chairman Max Lousada.

While David’s family have not gone into detail about his illness, director Ivo van Hove, who he worked with on his stage show Lazarus, claimed he died from liver cancer.

It has since been confirmed that the timing of the release was very intentional on Bowie’s part, with the album being his final parting gift to his fans.

As far as chart-topping songs go, Bowie found himself at #1 twice on the Hot 100: With “Fame” in 1975 and “Let’s Dance” in 1983. “But he told me privately, and I really got choked up when we sat face to face talking about it”.
