WOW Air’s $199 flights from California to Europe are now on sale
WOW air will begin flying to the West Coast of the United States in summer 2016 with inaugural flights starting in San Francisco on June 9th and in Los Angeles starting on June 15th.
The $99 tickets are not available for every flight. The flights are expected to offer 21 European destinations including Amsterdam, Berlin, London, and Paris.
Those include a one-hour stopover in Iceland. The first WOW air flight from LAX is scheduled for June 15. Flights from L.A.to Reykjavik will operate four days a week with connecting flights elsewhere in Europe.
WOW, founded in 2011, will be offering those $99 fares in their new Airbus A330’s from LAX and San Francisco to Iceland starting in June.
Naturally, these low-cost prices do not include luggage, seat and food fees, and these are one-way tickets. Flights began in Boston and Baltimore/Washington, D.C.in 2015.
As SFGate points out, only flights booked on certain dates in June and September carry these prices, though WOW Air CEO Skúli Mogensen told the publication that there are many other options under $300 per flight. Seat pitch will be 30 inches, but some seats pitched at 34 inches will be available to book for an additional charge.
Skuli Mogensen, founder and chief executive of Wow air, said: “The addition of Los Angeles and San Francisco to our rapidly expanding network is a game changer for Wow air as we cement ourselves as the industry leader in the ultra-low-cost long haul category”.
Iceland’s WOW Air made news in early November with incredible deals on flights to Europe.
