More details on Samsung’s biggest phone ever have leaked online
Samsung announced on Tuesday that their new Note 5 will be launching ahead of schedule in New York on August 13 in the hopes of driving new sales before Apple’s next iPhone 6 phablet debuts in September. Last year we got a Quad HD display that eventually trickled down to the Galaxy S6 this year.
On Thursday, UK-based tech blog Mobile Fun shared new leaked images of both the Note 5 and the S6 edge+ booting up. Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 series in India, back in April; and even after launch, the 128GB model for both the smartphones were not easily available. Yet while phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4 and HTC One M9 do have impressive designs and specs, how much difference is there between them and the forthcoming OnePlus 2? The S6 Edge Plus is identical to the Note 5, except there is no stylus capability.
Once upon a time you know what you were getting with an Android phone made by Samsung, but the company’s latest efforts really do look like derivatives of Apple’s iPhone – and what’s more, they’ve lost their removable battery, microSD card and waterproofing features along the way. Considering the success of the Galaxy S6 Edge worldwide, Samsung believes a larger version will perform just as well in the market. And, even more important, because Advanced Messaging is built on the RCS standard, in the future, your real-time chats won’t be held inside a single app or platform ecosystem.
The Galaxy Note 4 ushered in Samsung’s entrance to virtual reality with the Gear VR.
The image quality on the Galaxy S6 is generally better than the Note 4, with more accurate colours.
Samsung’s current flagship duo can be purchased in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants but according to latest reports it appears that Samsung has discontinued the 128GB variant in select markets. The leaked photos were also posted on Twitter, which were said to be Samsung Galaxy Note 5’s S-Pen.
