Iowa poll: Ted Cruz has slim lead over Donald Trump
Many landowners across the state are stridently opposed to the projects, particularly the proposed use of eminent domain to assemble the rights-of-way necessary to build them.
Thursday night’s Republican presidential debate could turn into the Donald Trump-Ted Cruz show with the NY businessman still questioning the Texas senator’s eligibility since Cruz was born in Canada. Great doubt, Dems will sue! “Cruz is qualified to run for president and to serve if elected”.
Cruz, who insists that the issue of his qualification has always been settled, responded by suggesting that Trump is the favored candidate of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s supporters.
In response to one question, Bush emphasized his opposition to the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2004 Kelo decision which allowed eminent domain for private commercial projects – he called it “completely wrong” – and noted his efforts as the governor to ban such takings in Florida. That means Cruz has a plenty high ceiling of potential support-23 percent of the poll’s sample listed him as their second choice, bringing his combined total as first or second choice to 48 percent. John McCain, R-Ariz. – who was born in the Panama Canal Zone – a natural born citizen.
Iran was holding 10 U.S. Navy sailors and their two small Navy boats after the boats had mechanical problems and drifted into Iranian waters, but American officials have received assurances from Tehran that they will be… Cruz? Yes, his mother hailed from DE, but his father remained a Cuban national at the time of Ted’s arrival on the scene. “She’s never been a citizen of any other place”.
Unfortunately, for those who cherish this scenario, there’s an insurmountable obstacle – aside from the fear that any chief executive installing the ambitious Cruz as his VEEP might find it hard to secure a life insurance policy.
McManamon also points out that automatic naturalization has not always been part of USA law – meaning that the children of citizens born overseas have not always been considered citizens.
Speaking to radio host Howie Carr, Cruz continued the attacks, subtlety raising questions about Trump’s values. He was definitely foreign-born – with the Canadian birth certificate and the dual Canadian-American citizenship (until May 14, 2014) to prove it.
“It is more than a little odd to see Donald relying on as authoritative a liberal left-wing judicial activist Harvard law professor who is a huge Hillary supporter”, Cruz told reporters after a rally at a gun range in New Hampshire.
Notably, Cruz didn’t directly address the merits of the claim.
