Drake, Kevin Hart to coach NBA All-Star Celebrity Game
A pair of star-stacked teams – one representing the United States and one Canada – are set to take the court at this year’s celebrity show down.
Meanwhile, Hart, a four-time All-Star MVP, will be leading Team USA and a handful of famous faces, including Creed’s Michael Bae Jordan, Black-ish’s Anthony Anderson, Nick Cannon and Empire’s Bryshere “Yazz” Gray.
Steve Nash, who won NBA MVP awards two years in a row, will help Drake in his coaching efforts.
Drake’s basketball fandom is well documented: he’s a vocal supporter of his hometown team, the Toronto Raptors, and he’s adopted the Kentucky Wildcats as his favorite NCAA squad.
While he’s likely to attend the full range of All-Star weekend events, it was announced on Thursday (Jan. 14) that the rapper will coach during the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game opposite amusing man Kevin Hart. Joining the two-time NBA MVP on the hardwood will be former Raptors guard Tracy McGrady; Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista, professional tennis player Milos Raonic; actor and singer Kris Wu, NBA TV analyst Rick Fox; Natalie Achonwa from the WNBA’s Indiana Fever; Arcade Fire’s Win Butler; and Drew and Jonathan Scott from HGTV’s Property Brothers.
We can’t wait to see Kart’s comedic coaching and Drake’s cheesy moves.
Tickets for the game reportedly sold out in 15 minutes (via reports from Canadian media outlets) when they went on sale to the general public on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. EST but fans can still watch the game live on ESPN from the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto.
