Boy battling cancer just wants to be famous
“It’s unreal how this took off”.
Dorian Murray of Westerly, Rhode Island, has been receiving regards from Chinese netizens in recent days.
8, Dorian Murray, from CT in America, has picked to avoid treatment and is fighting cancer.
The allure has been shared tens of thousands of time on social networking. A wish detailed in a post from Dorian’s Facebook does show that Dorian has one of his wishes granted in his life time – the wish that he can be famous in the world, and specifically in China.
Dorian’s wish went viral.
“It’s like my little logo thing”, Dorian explained, holding up his arms in a pose Gronk would be proud of.
Besides Gronkowski, Dorian has received signs of support from many countries, including Spain, France, Australia, Japan, Italy, Switzerland and even some from the Great Wall of China, which was his original goal.
“I just did what a human should do”, Xu said. “Dorian is energized by the attention that he’s getting. And it’s just really nice to know that so many people have my back for me”.
“I’m just thinking before I go to heaven to try to be famous as much as I can”, he said.
His mom and dad hope to make their son as comfortable and happy as possible in the coming weeks.
In December, his family made the hard decision to no longer continue chemotherapy after cancer cells spread to his spinal fluid.
An 11 January post on a Facebook page run by his family said that before Dorian died he wanted to be “famous in China”, because it had the Great Wall.
The Praying for Dorian Facebook page has more than 28,000 likes.
It has been translated and reposted on Chinese sites, with thousands of people uploading photos of themselves at the Great Wall and other locations, many with signs displaying the family’s hashtag #D-Strong.
