Former Power Ranger Richard Medina Jr arrested for murdering roommate for
Ricardo Medina, an actor who worked on two Power Rangers series and was arrested on suspicion of killing his roommate with a sword in February 2015, has been charged with murder.
He expressed grief upon his release, telling reporters about the Antelope Valley jail that he was “very, very, very sorry for what occurred”.
As previously reported, the Power Rangers Samurai star allegedly stabbed his roommate Joshua Sutter multiple times with a sword at their Green Valley, California, house. Prosecutors planned to ask that he be held on $1 million bail.
According to an account provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department following the incident, Medina and Sutter got into an argument over the actor’s girlfriend at the apartment they shared in Palmdale, north of Los Angeles.

If convicted, Medina faces 26 years to life in prison. However, the district attorney’s office rejected the case pending further investigation.
As Variety notes, Medina played Cole Evans during the 2002 series Power Rangers Wild Force. He most recently voiced the character Deker in the video game Power Rangers Super Samurai in 2012.
