Rob Gronkowski gets treatment on knee at hospital, including injection
Today, the New England Patriots hold their last practice session of the week leading up to their AFC divisional match-up against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs.
Take a deep breath, Patriots Nation.
Gronkowski returned to play against the Houston Texans on December 13 and was removed from the injury report the following week.
Ever since the aforementioned torn knee ligaments, Gronkowski has proven to be durable, missing just two game over the past two years.
Still, the situation is worth monitoring, given that New England’s top three wide receivers – Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, and Brandon LaFell – were all listed as limited on yesterday’s first practice report of the week. He missed his entire junior season in 2009 due to a back injury, and he reportedly underwent back surgery before the 2013 season.
ESPN has reported that Gronkowski received treatment for his injured knee, including an injection, at a Boston-area hospital during the day on Thursday.
The Pro Bowler suffered a right knee strain back on November 29 against the Denver Broncos and missed the following week’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Patriots host the Chiefs Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.
