Jimmy Fallon is no alcoholic, says NBC boss

The network used its platform Wednesday at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour to announce its follow-up to critical success The Wiz and its predecessors, Peter Pan and The Sound of Music.

Fallon told fans in June he ripped his finger out of its socket after tripping over a rug, and chipped his tooth two months later while trying to open medication for his finger. “He did it. I don’t think that’s a possibility, but we’d be thrilled to have John Travolta”, Greenblatt says.

Greenblatt also acknowledged that the accident-prone host’s health is of huge importance to the network. “The stories are exaggerated about all of it. I don’t know to what extent”, he said. NBC president of non-scripted Paul Telegdy noted today that ratings for Gervais’ return were down only a fraction from previous year against strong competition.

“Jimmy is going to be fine for many years to come”, Greenblatt said. I think it’d be a thrilling movie or television experience, and yeah, I’d love to.
