Wahab Riaz warns Kiwis to be wary of Pak’s pace attack
Pakistan will hope Amir will deliver in his return to the side alongside pacers Wahab Riaz and Umar Gul.
“He’s getting a chance”. Fast bowler Matt Henry also came into the XI in place of Mitchell McClenaghan, who was ruled out with a niggle. Umar Gul is back and is doing really well.
“I think Brendon McCullum’s done a good job”, he said.
The 23-year-old Muhammad Amir made an impressive comeback in domestic cricket and also gave brilliant performance in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), eventually forcing the selectors to include him in Pakistan Squad for New Zealand tour. “He can bowl outswing as well”. He added that If a bowler has the skill to take wickets with the new ball, the pressure will always be on the batsmen. “That’s I’m saying that him coming into the team will help us more”.
Pakistan ended its batting at 171 for 8 setting a 172 run target for New Zealand. This will be the first match of Pakistan away from home this year, while New Zealand have an advantage after their win against Sri Lanka and this will be the only T20I series for the Hosts’ ahead of the ICC World T20 2016 to be held in India.
Batsman Sohaib Maqsood has been included despite being hit in the neck by the ball at training midweek.
“We have much more good bowlers than Sri Lanka”, he said.
Our management is very experienced – Waqar Younis, Mushtaq Ahmed, Grant Flower – the way they work with players, they pinpoint everything and tell us what to execute. “It’s not going to be easy for them to score runs against us”, Riaz said.
“We are all aware of the style that they are playing is awesome to see actually, but we have to match them, and the boys are very prepared and ready to put up a good show”. We will definitely attack, and let’s see. “No doubt, they are playing wonderful cricket at the moment”, he said. Then again, Pakistan confronted rout in 3 diversions in their last 5 amusements. They had also won their most recent bilateral series in the country.
“We have to pick and choose our balls”, Shehzad said. Still, Amir’s five-wicket maiden last over is regarded as one of the best death overs in T20 cricket, if not the greatest. Therefore, neither team will like to miss the opportunity to gain some morale boosting victories.
