Caitlyn Jenner focuses on advocacy in new season of TV show

Every day since she has come out as a woman, people approach Caitlyn Jenner. Her changing relationships with her children and the Kardashian clan, including ex-wife Kris Jenner, are shown in Season 2.

But Jenner also frequently gets just two words: “Thank you”.

While Season One of I Am Cait was an excellent entrance for many people into the transgender community, it looks like Caitlyn Jenner’s friends are exhausted of her sounding so naive.

I Am Cait returns in March.

But it’s not about the ratings for Jenner and the rest of the cast.

With I Am Cait, Jenner wants to shine a spotlight on transgender issues and help audiences understand “that these are normal people”.

Appearing at the Television Critics Association event on Thursday to promote her TV show I Am Cait, Jenner was asked about some of the jokes Gervais made about her last weekend, when he hosted the Golden Globes.

“‘It was a conscious decision that I wanted this show to be about the issues”, Jenner said. ‘Isn’t it good they have someone on the team who can going in there (to try) and change their minds? “We have our fingers crossed”. Transitioning is not easy, especially if you do it in the public’s eye. I never really felt I fit in anywhere. While taking a road trip with her girlfriends, she’s asked if she considers herself to be a lesbian, since as Bruce, she was interested in women and hasn’t really said anything differently since transitioning. Not as much as Bruce Jenner, obviously. Caitlyn Jenner is an Executive Producer, and Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins, Farnaz Farjam, Andrea Metz and Melissa Bidwell serve as Executive Producers for Bunim/Murray Productions. What a year she’s had. “She didn’t do a lot for women drivers, but you can’t have everything, can ya?”

– On Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais, who poked fun at her in his monologue: “I’m going to call the Golden Globes and see if they need a new host for next year”. “And we’ll solve that problem”.
