Man sought in fatal shooting of boy in Chicago arrested in Wisconsin
The Douglas County sheriff’s office says a 20-year-old man was arrested Wednesday by deputies and U.S. marshals at a home in Superior, Wisconsin.
Superior is located just over the state line from Duluth, Minn., roughly 460 miles from Chicago.
McCarthy has said that Antonio Brown, the child’s father who is an alleged Four Corner Hustlers gang member, was the suspect’s intended target.
20 year-old Rasheed Martin is expected to face a judge there on Thursday as he awaits extradition to Chicago. According to that arrest report, he had a scar from a gunshot wound to his stomach.
The Chicago Tribune reported 55 people were hurt and 10 people died due to July 4 weekend shootings in the Windy City.
Amari Brown was shot in the chest in the dark of night in a drive-by shooting on Chicago’s South Side as he stood with his father watching Independence Day fireworks.
McCarthy has claimed, according to multiple outlets, that Antonio Brown was a gang member and that authorities have arrested him 45 times.
Family and friends of 7-year-old Amari Brown, who was killed on the Fourth of July by a bullet police say was meant for his father, gathered at the boy’s funeral Saturday.
