Chickenpox Keeps Angelina Jolie Quarantined and away from ‘Unbroken’ Promos
Angelina Jolie would be confined to home itching and missing the events for her film “Unbroken” due to a mild bout of chicken pox.
Unbroken, which is the story of World War II prisoner of war and former Olympic runner Louis “Louie” Zamperini, is scheduled to premiere on December 15 in Los Angeles. Jolie’s husband Brad Pitt and her children are slated to attend the event.
Jolie, 39, is making her second directorial effort with Unbroken, her debut being “In The Land of Blood and Honey”. The actress reportedly fought hard to bag Unbroken and dedicated two years to the making of the film. Angelina revealed that she would have to withdraw from the promotions owing to her illness. She felt saddened by the fact that “chicken pox” snatched away her chance to be there with Louis’s family, Phil’s (Phillips, one of Louie’s fellow airmen) daughter, Karen, veterans, and all the guests.
Jolie’s illness comes days after she was dissed by the top Hollywood producer Scott Rudin in private emails. Rudin called Jolie “minimally talented spoiled brat” and the comments were made public by the Sony cyberattack. Jolie’s film was also snubbed by the Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe awards.
The film holds a very special place in Angelina’s heart. After having devoted a lot of time on the film, it is really heart-breaking since she would not be there the night “Unbroken” finally .premieres. Ina video released recently the Oscar winner actress appeared dull with red chicken pox rash developing particularly on her chest and arms.
In the movie, British actor Jack O’Connell O’Connell plays Zamperini – who died earlier this year at the age of 97. The other stars in the movie include Miyavi, Garrett Hedlund, and Domhnall Gleeson.
