Wow, Derrick Henry sure does tower over fellow Heisman victor Mark Ingram
Henry set SEC records for rushing yards and touchdowns with 2,219 and 28 en route to winning the Heisman Trophy and leading Alabama to the National Championship with a win over the Clemson Tigers.
It was long assumed that Henry would bypass his senior season at Alabama for a shot at the NFL.
Alabama’s Derrick Henry will forgo his final year of eligibility to go pro, according to ESPN.
“It feels good to be coming back with my brothers for another year”, Jackson said via Twitter.
Henry projects to be a Brandon Jacobs type of back or in a best-case scenario could have a similar career to that of former Heisman victor Eddie George.
There’s really nothing else left for Henry to accomplish in the college football world.
The fact that Henry had a helmet on made the height difference look particularly stark, but the discrepancy was still startling, especially given that Ingram, who had 1,174 total yards and six touchdowns for the Saints this season, is not thought of as a small back.
ESPN analyst Todd McShay rates Henry as the No. 2 running back in the draft and the No. 37 prospect overall. “They’ll have all those opportunities next year”.
Other Alabama players – defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson, defensive end Jonathan Allen and tight end O.J. Howard – have yet to announce their decisions.
