Jeb Bush to win endorsement of South Carolina Sen. Graham
Republican president candidate Jeb Bush has scored the endorsement of South Carolina Sen. She backed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the eventual GOP presidential nominee, in 2012. Ted Cruz who have positioned themselves as anti-establishment alternatives. According to Fox News, Graham said in a statement, “Jeb Bush is best prepared to be commander-in-chief on day one”.
Graham has served in the U.S. Senate since 2003.
Once Graham dropped out, dozens of his SC supporters and top donors quickly fell in line with Bush, leaving many to believe that the senator would eventually back the former governor.
A spokesperson for Graham confirmed to CNN that Graham, from the crucial early primary state SC, will endorse Bush’s White House bid from a Charleston hotel Friday morning.
Since dropping out of the 2016 race, Lindsey Graham has kept it a mystery as to which candidate he would throw his support behind. Graham was due to say that Bush’s GOP nomination could mean “we will beat Hillary Clinton”.
“It expands our statewide network of grassroots and grass tops across the state in terms of organizing and fundraising”, the aide said.
