The Great British Bake Off series six air date confirmed
The 80 year old baking expert Berry has been judging on the show since it launched in 2010, an incredibly popular format that attracted average audiences of over 10 million during its fifth season last year.
The Great British Bake Off judge has reportedly left her role on the junior version of the show in order to free up a bit more time for herself.
Bake Off returns in just two weeks – scream!
“Paul decided to quit after one year but Mary stayed on, so it was still a strong brand”.
“But now she has decided to leave as well”.
But Mary’s workload became too much, , according to The Sun, who say she told producers her job was becoming unmanageable. In fact, the series was the most watched non-sporting show of the year overtaking all other reality TV attempts for the year.
“Unfortunately for Junior Bake Off, it was the show she felt she could do without”.
Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins will be back in the Bake Off tent to host the series, and also to sample the contestants’ baked offerings and make slightly risque jokes.
The next series of the show is due to be aired in November, and a replacement judge will be announced in due time.
Bake Off fans will be thrilled to hear that the new series is starting soon on BBC One.
