Chandler Jones, Patriots DL, admitted, released at hospital
Jones politely responded to specific questions about his mental and emotional health with a similar response: “I understand the question”. Standing at his locker in a Patriots sweatshirt, he said he was trying to focus on the divisional playoff game and “be the best No. 95 I can be”.
“I think coach (Bill) Belichick does a great job of really just, like, brainwashing us”, defensive back Duron Harmon said on Wednesday as the Patriots prepared for their playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Jones’ jersey number is 95.
A police log from Foxborough police shows a man identified as Jones entered the department for a medical emergency at 7:42 a.m.
Next, the officers made contact with Jones in the rear of the station and Jones identified himself.
Suddenly, Foscaldo wrote, the man got down on his knees, laced his hands behind his head and held the position. “Honestly, it appeared as if he was actively praying or worshiping”. Jones repeated this movement at least twice.
These reports were given by Foxboro PD to Town Manager William G. Keegan Jr., who reviewed them and released them to the media.
There weren’t any narcotics in his possession, cops said, as they spoke to Jones, who was “polite, cooperative and respectful”.
Jones was found by Foxboro police outside their headquarters Sunday morning seeking medical attention.
On fire dispatch recordings from the same time period, which you can listen to below, the dispatcher is asked to send the rescue to the front parking lot for an evaluation, “medical, uhh, mental”.
In the ambulance, Jones remembered he left his keys at his home. The officer reported a scent of burnt marijuana. Jones’ play over the next month will have a real impact on his future with the team, and this new issue certainly doesn’t help matters.
“I want to apologize to all the fans and everyone for the support”, he said.
The Patriots said Jones did not miss any practice or meetings this week. From there he deferred any further comments on the situation to the statement the team previously made about the situation. In the regular season, Jones ranked fifth in the league with 12.5 sacks.
