Pacman Jones: I will apologize to Antonio Brown if he doesn’t play
Porter helped incite a 15-yard penalty from Bengals corner Adam Jones during the waning seconds of Saturday’s Wild Card fiasco which aided the Steelers in their attempt to boot a game-winning field goal.
Cleveland’s search committee was back at the team’s headquarters in Berea to regroup after a busy few days talking to prospective coaches.
“I’ll go in tomorrow with the intent to see what I can do”, Roethlisberger said during the interview.
The NFL has not yet announced if Burfict will receive a fine for the hit on Brown, but the three-game suspension alone will cost him $502,941 in salary.
As for running back DeAngelo Williams, who missed the Wildcard Round with a foot injury, NFL Newtork’s Ian Rapoport doesn’t sound optimistic that he’ll be ready for the game in Denver.
Even if Roethlisberger can play, his effectiveness will be in question.
More punishments are expected from the game, which was marred by numerous altercations between players.
If Brown is unable to play, that’s a critical blow for a high-powered Steelers offense. “If I see him, I will walk the other way”.
Brown is still going through the concussion protocol as of Tuesday morning, however, several local beat writers believe he’ll play against the Broncos.
Caldwell is on hold • New Lions general manager Bob Quinn said he has not decided if he will retain coach Jim Caldwell. “I know he was faking”, Jones told Patrick. “I have to find a better way to get it across”.
Burfict was penalized for unnecessary roughness and Jones for unsportsmanlike conduct during an on-field skirmish while Brown was being attended to by trainers. Quinn, 39, had various roles in the Patriots’ personnel department for 16 years, including the past four as their director of pro scouting.
Jackson and Jacksonville offensive assistant Doug Marrone are the only coaches the Browns have met who have National Football League head-coaching experience.
