Grizzly Adams Star Dan Haggerty Dies, Aged 74
“Grizzly Adams” was about a mountain man who was best friends with a grizzly bear after he is wrongly accused of murder.
The popular actor showed off his considerable muscle (and was a must-have participant in the tug-of-war competition) as a member of the NBC team in the Battle of the Network Stars competitions that aired on ABC.
Bomar, Haggerty’s friend for more than 20 years, spoke to the star yesterday on the phone and Haggerty told him he loved him.
Dan Haggerty, the star of 1970s hit television series The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams, has died at the age of 74. Dan first discovered his cancer after having back surgery for a constant pain he was having.
Haggerty made occasional film and TV guest-starring appearances in the years following Grizzly Adams.
According to the International Movie Database, Haggerty had several films in post-production that are slated for release in 2016, such as “40 Nights” and “The Untold Story”.
Dan left a lasting impact in the world of television and he will be deeply missed. This same week, David Bowie, Adam Rickman and Celine Dion’s husband, René Angélil all tragically died of cancer.
While home, Haggerty met with close friends and family in his final days.
