Pacman Jones: I’ll apologize if Antonio Brown doesn’t play
Citing a source close to the Bengals linebacker, ESPN is reporting that Burfict hopes Goodell will reduce his three-game suspension and wants to meet with the National Football League commissioner at his soonest convenience.
Earlier Tuesday morning, Roethlisberger said on his radio show on 93.7 The Fan that he was “definitely sore” from the hit he absorbed from Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, and he revealed that he did suffer ligament damage.
Burfict had already been fined four times for unsafe plays during the season.
Marshall, who pointed out that a wink can mean many different things, also noted that Brown has yet to be cleared to play this week. He was penalized in 2014 for twisting the ankles of Panthers players, who had called for Burfict to be suspended.
In my honest opinion, unless Roethlisberger recovers dramatically during the week, I believe that he should not try to take the field. “They’ll give him that same test and if he brings it back to where he was, he passed the protocol”, Kasdan said.
Merton Hanks, the NFL vice president of football operations, ruled Burfict’s play placed Pittsburgh wide receiver Antonio Brown at unnecessary risk of injury and could have been avoided. He’s had three penalties this season for unnecessary roughness.
There were 18 penalties, seven of which were of the 15-yard variety, including one on Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Mike Munchak for pulling the hair of Bengals safety Reggie Nelson on the Pittsburgh sideline. The two penalties moved the ball from Cincinnati’s 47-yard line to the 17, and Chris Boswell made a 35-yard field goal for the victory.
Regarding Big Ben, Tomlin said, “He [Ben] has a chance”.
The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t yet know if quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be able to go against the Denver Broncos this weekend.
“Antonio Brown was not hurt”, Jones said. “I have to find a better way to get it across”. “If I see him, I will walk the other way”.
