Golden Globes 2016: Leonardo DiCaprio explains his reaction to Lady Gaga’s win
It was in 2012 when she won her last award at the Golden Globes for the television miniseries “Mildred Pierce”. “It was her moment to shine and she worked very hard for that award”. It was nominated for Best Motion Picture and Best Director, yet The Revenant won both. The film’s director, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, won best director.
The Best-Comedy-or-Musical award went to “The Martian”.
The awards are decided by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, made up of some 90 entertainment editors and writers from 55 countries who report on the industry.
Adam McKay’s star-studded financial collapse comedy “The Big Short” also walked away empty handed, despite some rising awards momentum lately with recent Producers Guild and Writers Guild nominations.
Mad Max: Fury Road. The ceremony is regarded as the official kick-off to the awards season, finishing off with the Oscars in February.

“Steve Jobs”, a controversial look at the late Apple co-founder that floundered at the box office despite warm reviews, took home Golden Globes for supporting actress Kate Winslet, and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.
He calls DiCaprio’s speech “really meaningful”, and says he’d like to see more meticulous portrayals of indigenous culture come out of Hollywood.
There were some surprises though, such as the resounding success of The Revenant, which won best film, best director and best actor which went to Leonardo DicCaprio. Henson also dedicated hers to all her “haters”.
While she was on the stage, the New York-native gave a shout out to “AHS” creator Ryan Murphy and the cast: “You’re my family forever….” She won this award for her performance in The Affair.
Speaking at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night (10.01.16) – where she picked up the Best Actress for a Limited Series or TV Movie prize for her performance in “American Horror Story: Hotel” – she confirmed: “I am putting out an album this year”. Last year, “Transparent” had a similar sweep. Stallone received a standing ovation from everyone in the audience. “I actually had no idea who was passing me or what was going on, but that was a amusing little bit that went around … we were laughing at it at the after-party! What a terrific year in film”. “It was a long time ago”, said Stallone while accepting the award.
“But I now find myself in the awkward position of having to introduce him again”.
