David Bowie To Be Honoured At The Brit Awards

His death soon followed his 69th birthday and the release of his latest album Blackstar, which is on its way to becoming Bowie’s first No. 1 album in America. Over the last few years – with him living in NY and me in London – our connection was by email.

Separately, there’s an Italian petition to God asking people to say “NO” to David Bowie no longer being with us.

Lady Gaga, also known for her detailed costumes and stage shows, discussed Bowie in an interview that took place some time before the musician’s death.

Speaking on CBS’ 60 Minutes programme in 2003, he said: “I was never particularly fond of my voice”.

“He felt optimistic about it being able to prolong his life, hopefully in the belief there would be better and newer treatments that would come along”.

“I just had a woman at the counter a moment ago who was crying and saying all of her fondest memories of the 80s were David Bowie music, ” Ms Broomfield said.

“I had to stop the vehicle to listen, it is a lovely tribute”, Jack Stapleton commented. “He’s a great loss – not just a loss as an artist, but as a human”.

The last time Bowie was seen in public was at the premiere of musical Lazarus, based on his back catalogue, when according to Mr van Hove he was so ill that he “collapsed from exhaustion”. Bowie was still writing on his deathbed, you could say.

The 60-year-old model married the Starman singer in 1992 before welcoming daughter Alexandria Zahra Jones, 15, together in 2000 and Iman’s close friend Bethann Hardison revealed the family are coping.

Thousands of fans around the world paid tribute to the “Sound And Vision” creator when news of his death broke, and on Monday evening, hundreds gathered in his birthplace Brixton for an impromptu street party to honour him.
