Scream Queens Renewed For Season 2
The horror-comedy, which may in retrospect be one of the most entertaining and underrated shows from the fall, is going to be given a second season.
Fox has renewed Empirefor a third season and Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens for Season 2.
“Scream Queens” averaged just 2.8 million weekly viewers, but during the Television Critics Association press tour, the network bosses pointed out that the show reaches a “young upscale” audience that experiences the show via delayed viewing and on other platforms. It was the only broadcast series to earn a Golden Globe Award nomination this year in the category of Best Television Series – Drama. It has also garnered critical acclaim, with Taraji P. Henson winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series – Drama for her portrayal of Cookie Lyon and the show itself nabbing a Golden Globe nom for Best TV Series – Drama. No premiere date for Empire season three was announced. Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson star.
This has to be considered a pleasant surprise for many diehard TV fans out there: Fox is giving “Scream Queens” another shot. Jussie Smollett, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, Trai Byers, Grace Gealey, Kaitlin Doubleday, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones and Serayah McNeill round out the cast.
– Prison Break gets a second life: Like they did for The X-Files (the series returns later this month for six episodes), FOX is breathing new life into Prison Break.
