Billy King releases statement, thanks Prokhorov & company

The now former GM, Billy King, was on his sixth season with the Nets. “Just, we need a fresh look”. Or…maybenot. Monday night, the Nets played their first game in the post-King/Hollins era, with interim head coach Tony Brown in charge as Brooklyn took on the Spurs. During King’s tenure, the Nets never made it as far as the Eastern Conference finals, much less the NBA Finals.

Seriously. There’s no one here.

Brown spent the prior three seasons as an assistant coach with the Dallas Mavericks under Rick Carlisle.

Brooklyn missed 10 of 12 three-point attempts and committed 19 turnovers that resulted in 30 points to their opponents.

King was hired as general manager in 2010 and in his five-plus seasons with the organisation, the team has managed a winning record twice – in 2012-13 and 2013-14. To sum up these two moves, let’s turn to the legendary Happy Gilmore.
