‘The X-Files’ spoilers: ‘Silicon Valley’ star Kumail Nanjiani to appear
The anticipated X-Files revival is still months out but one fan is getting the chance to be in it. Let’s say you have a podcast about The X-Files. The comedian revealed on his Twitter that he would appear in an episode written and directed by his “favorite writer” Darin Morgan.
The Silicon Valley star has always been a trusted X-Files expert, and he even hosts a podcast dedicated to discussing and analyzing individual episodes. What his role will be on the show is still under wraps but his on set photos reveal he is wearing an animal control officer uniform.
This is a big deal for a guy who apparently used to think that everything that happened in The X-Files was real. Davis returning as Cigarette-Smoking Man as well as Annabeth Gish and Robert Patrick as agents Monica Reyes and John Doggett, but this hasn’t been confirmed. Not only was his show, Silicon Valley, nominated for an Emmy, but he filmed an episode of The X-Files. The report by Entertainment Weekly also notes that Kumail Nanjiani has been tweeting about some behind the scenes action at the set of the “X-Files” revival series. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.
Good news for “X-Files” fans as a new cast member have been added while new details about the revival series have been unveiled as well.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back as Mulder and Scully, as are Mitch Pileggi as Federal Bureau of Investigation Assistant Director Walter Skinner and William B. THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993.
