Tennessee Family May Have Winning Ticket For $1.5 Billion Powerball
“I really didn’t feel like stopping that night, but I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll stop, ‘” John said.
The ticket was purchased by John and Lisa Robinson, while John was on his way home from work.
A couple who claims to own one of the winning Powerball tickets will be on the Today Show for an exclusive in-studio interview.
“I said, I ain’t feeling good, I’m going to lie down”, he said. He called and told her she won and even went as far as to included a picture of what he said was the winning ticket.
The Robinsons appeared on the “Today” show on Friday morning and claimed to have the winning ticket. John said they plan to contact lottery officials after the show.
After it was revealed that one of the winning tickets was sold at the Chino Hills 7-Eleven, crowds of nearby residents flocked to celebrate with the store clerk identified as M. Faroqui – who quickly became famous on social media.
The couple also had the ticket with them.
The first order of business with the family’s newfound fortune: pay off their daughter’s student loans.
John Robinson said they also want to help out certain friends, give some money to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, and donate to their church. But Lisa Robinson stayed up to watch the much-anticipated drawing.
Neighbors say John and Lisa Robinson live in the small town of Munford.
But their daughter has one special request.
Holders of the Wednesday night drawings’ two other winning tickets, which were sold in California and Florida, have not yet come forward.
“I’ll be there Monday, ” she said after calling her supervisor to tell her to tune in to “Today”.
The million dollar winners were sold in Toledo, Cleveland, and Centerville.
For Wednesday night’s drawing alone, Powerball sales totaled $1,270,206,274.
According to the Ohio Lottery, the million dollar victor was sold at the Speedway in the 300 block of Miamisburg Centerville Road in Centerville.
