New York Republican John Catsimatidis: Cruz ‘should be ashamed’
The ever-combative Daily News tabloid published a big front-page illustration of the Statue of Liberty giving Cruz the finger, with the headline: “DROP DEAD, TED”.
“I apologize to millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians”, Cruz said in an impromptu press gathering on the campaign trail in Iowa early Friday evening.
In September, ABC News had asked Trump in an interview, “Do you still think he’s ineligible to be president because he was born in Canada?”
In the exchange, Cruz hit Rubio for “dumping your “oppo” research folder on the debate stage” after Rubio’s barrage, but Rubio shot back, “That’s your record”.
“As Cruz is saying anti-New York and trying to bring up a negative stereotype that is offensive, 9/11 is the exact opposite”, Cuomo said on MSNBC. In many ways he represents or should have represented the beauty of NY and the acceptance of NY, the capital of immigration. Trump, who is leading the GOP leadership race over Cruz, argued conservatives do live in Manhattan. The air was particularly hostile between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, who have been engaged in a war of words over Trump questioning the Canadian-born Cruz’s nationality.
“[New Yorkers are] not judgmental, negative and hostile the way Cruz was”, he said.
Texas senator and 2016 presidential hopeful, Ted Cruz, is in the hot seat with the city of NY after a disparaging remark this week delivered to Donald Trump. “And I recognize that Donald is dismayed that his poll numbers are falling in Iowa”, Cruz said. Cruz continued with a litany of “apologies” to jab at Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio. “When the World Trade Center came down I saw something that no place on earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than New York”, Trump responded. Even though there have been many high-paying jobs just south in Pennsylvania, New Yorkers have been denied the chance to provide for their families.
“I have to tell you, that was a very insulting statement that Ted made”, he concluded. “The country will be in chaos if he’s elected president or vice president and this goes to trial then”, the attorney told Bloomberg.
“I think those comments are a good indication of what’s happened to our politics”. “New Yorkers, hey, are we a little bit liberal?”
