New York Republican John Catsimatidis: Cruz ‘should be ashamed’

The ever-combative Daily News tabloid published a big front-page illustration of the Statue of Liberty giving Cruz the finger, with the headline: “DROP DEAD, TED”.

Trump, who is leading the GOP leadership race over Cruz, argued conservatives do live in Manhattan. The air was particularly hostile between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, who have been engaged in a war of words over Trump questioning the Canadian-born Cruz’s nationality.

“[New Yorkers are] not judgmental, negative and hostile the way Cruz was”, he said.

“I have to tell you, that was a very insulting statement that Ted made”, he concluded. “The country will be in chaos if he’s elected president or vice president and this goes to trial then”, the attorney told Bloomberg.
