Chip Kelly hired as coach of the San Francisco 49ers

As the article notes, rumors were swirling last week that Chip Kelly was looking to acquire Kaepernick as his quarterback, regardless of the team that he signed on to coach. That’s because we play three more games than other teams. “He is an extremely driven individual that I look forward to working with”.

Kelly’s innovative offense didn’t realize its full potential in Philadelphia over the past two seasons because his quarterbacks lacked the running ability to stress defenses at the mesh point.

Indianapolis coach Chuck Pagano hired Jim Herrman as linebackers coach and Darren Krein as head strength and conditioning coach, then continued his staff shake-up by announcing offensive line coach Hal Hunter would not return.

“Maybe the ego got in the way”, Johnson said when asked what went wrong with Kelly at Philadelphia.
