Pokkén Tournament confirms March release date
Good news. Nintendo seems to have learned from their mistakes with Mario Tennis (no online play with friends) and Splatoon (no local multiplayer beyond a boring minigame), and given Pokken Tournament all the multiplayer capabilities you could ever want.
“Pokken Tournament’s” roster of fighting Pokemons has been expanded yet again recently.
Via a press release sent out this morning, Nintendo of America confirmed that Pokken Tournament will be hitting the Wii U on March 18th. It features the best visual representation of the Pokemon we have received yet. In Ranked Matches players will compete to earn rank points, which are awarded by how well you perform each match.
Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U fighting game, “Pokken Tournament”, is looking to shed a new light on the “Pokemon” franchise with a game that is very different from what the company used to offer. At a distance, the game is target-based where players will roam around the arena and attempt to engage their opponent’s peppered attacks or projectiles, nearly equivalent to Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2’s Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm series. First introduced in the Fifth Generation games (Pokemon Black/White and their sequels), Chandelure is the final evolution of Litwick and can only be evolved using a Dusk Stone.

Also pointed out in a report from IGN is that none of the three additions refers to the mysterious Pokemon that is set to be revealed soon via the game’s official Twitter page.
