Hot reptile in the city? Alligator spotted crossing New York street
Upper Manhattan residents got a toothy visitor Thursday when a crocodile was spotted casually walking down the street. “So this alligator was crossing 9th Ave in #Inwood…no, really”, The NYPD’s 34th Precinct tweeted about the alligator, who simply wanted to be a part of it.
Police rounded the gator up and took it to Animal Care & Control of New York City.
Crocodiles, which happen to be an threatened group, and alligators you should not hold it’s own in winter season. “That’s more of a crocodile hangout than an alligator spot…thx”.
It is hard for an ordinary viewer to inform how much difference them.
Urban legend has it that gators have long lived in New York City sewers, which was confirmed by a 2010 spotting in Astoria.
The Daily News reported that police at the scene think the alligator may have been headed for Harlem Bay.
It was at promptly not clear if alligator Thursday was at jaywalking.
