El Chapo shirt flying off the shelves
Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman bragged to Rolling Stone about his prowess in selling heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana-we can now add men’s apparel to that list, with sales of the shirts El Chapo was photographed in flying off the shelves.
The distinctive patterned blue and grey number is seen in a picture of Guzman shaking hands with United States actor Sean Penn in Rolling Stone magazine.
“There’s more – all of the eyes of the world put on him, therefore I don’t think so”, Edmonson said.
Actor Sean Penn may or may not be subject to prosecution stemming from his secret meeting with convicted drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, legal experts tell PEOPLE.
The messages provide a new window into the mysterious relationship between the then-fugitive and Del Castillo, who brokered the get-together between Guzman and Penn – even though the fugitive appeared to know little about the actor.
Mexican authorities said a “new line” of inquiry had been opened that could include Penn and del Castillo, and could involve “covering up” for Guzman “or something bigger”.
On its Facebook page, the company also offered customers the chance to win “our Barabas “El Chapo” shirts” if they liked Barabas on Facebook or Instagram.
The federal official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the dozens of texts were authentic.
During his previous 17 month stint behind bars, Guzman asked his lawyers to begin the process of trade-marking his name with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), according to Mexican journalist Carlos Loret de Mola. “Sean somehow figured out that he had an audience with this person and I’m sure was pursuing something creatively”. At one point, Guzman – who is reportedly married to former beauty queen Emma Coronel, and has had children with her and several other women – writes “My mother wants to meet you”.
On Oct.10, after they met, the actress wrote: “I don’t sleep much since I saw you”.
Who is Kate del Castillo?
Mexican authorities have released two mug shots of Guzman following his re-capture, reportedly shot at the time of his processing at the Altiplano maximum security prison. In regards to the El Chapo meeting and Penn’s experience with the drug lord, Rose teased, “He and I will have the chance to explore a whole range of things”. DVDs of her TV show were found in his hideout.
Despite Mexico’s pervasive corruption, Guzman was bound to be located by law enforcement, which had been humiliated by his July 2015 escape. “There is no way that I can see any kind of legitimate prosecution that could come from this”, Geragos told the outlet.
