Trump weighs in on Cruz loan controversy
Senator Ted Cruz gained some momentum on social media during Thursday evening’s Republican presidential debate – but, as has become custom, the night belonged to business mogul Donald Trump.
Trump recalled the spirit of New Yorkers after the 9/11 attacks and called Cruz’s insinuation “insulting”.
“There are many, many wonderful working men and women in the state of NY”. “Actually it’s a good thing”.
Both the NY investor and U.S. Sen.
Rep. Dan Donovan, another New York Republican whose district includes Staten Island and Brooklyn, also hit Cruz by pointing to September 11 and Hurricane Sandy.
“When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on Earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than New York”, Trump said. They were Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Jeb Bush and John Kasich.
“I’m always open to give him an education on what NY values are all about”, Cuomo said on NY1.
Cruz dismissed Trump’s issues over his birthplace at the debate, saying the line of thinking is largely proffered by liberals afraid of facing Cruz in a general election.
“Donald comes from NY and he embodies NY values”, Cruz said. “I think he owes New Yorkers an apology, not that we want it or we would accept it”.
Well, no son of New York City was going to just stand there and let that sort of shit fly.
The crowd in SC booed loudly as he made it, and he admitted he was only doing it because Cruz’s poll numbers were improving.
“Well if you’re willing to take our money, then show us the respect we deserve and earned and don’t try to divide us from our fellow Americans”, Giuliani added. At first he didn’t elaborate, but at the Republican debate Thursday night, he said it meant “socially liberal or pro-abortion or pro-gay marriage, focus around money and the media”.
Donald Trump at one time had said he had consider Ted Cruz as as a running mate, but that appears to be over as well.
When asked if he should cut Cruz any slack for looking for something to gain traction with Republican voters in Iowa, Cuomo had a strong response.
He believes Cruz “needs to apologize to New Yorkers and to Americans in general”.
