DiCaprio has ‘no nerves’ over Oscar nomination
There is no denying that Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the biggest and best actors in Hollywood today and will go down as one of the greatest actors of all time, already giving us some absolutely incredible performances in some fantastic movies over the years.
In the race to win the Best Original Score, the nominees are “Bridge of Spies”, “Carol”, “The Hateful Eight”, “Sicario” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. This has been proved once again, with the new movie The Revenant, which has earned rave reviews and landed a number of Oscar nominations.
Meanwhile, “The Martian”, a sci-fi film directed by Ridley Scott, is nominated under categories like Best Picture, Actor in a Leading Role, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.

“You know, it’s not often that films like this even get made but the fact that it’s gotten recognized means we’re going to get to do more like it”. “Champagne and Mezcal will run tonight!” That film grabbed ten nominations overall. “A lesbian love story, a brutal story of survival and everything in between”.
This year, she was recognised for playing the Miracle Mop inventor in “Joy”. The Revenant actor had been nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 1993 drama What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.
For DiCaprio it’s his fifth career nomination, but he’s still looking for his first win.
He said: “It’s interesting, to make movies, it always takes me 10 years to reflect on whether a movie’s good, bad or awful – because you’re so immersed in the moment, you’re sort of clouded by the experience you had, you never get that reflection”.
Besides Inarritu and Miller, others competing for the Best Director trophy include Tom McCarthy for “Spotlight”, Adam McKay for “The Big Short” and Lenny Abrahamson for “Room”.
