Wind Chills to Reach Dangerous Levels in Minnesota This Weekend
A chance for snow is also included on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Wind chills reached minus 40 in Bemidji Saturday morning and in the minus 20s in the Twin Cities.
The low Saturday night could drop to 4 below, and Sunday’s high is forecast to only reach 0.
Because of the dangerously cold temperatures and wind chill warnings, outdoor rinks and warming houses will not be open Saturday and more than likely Sunday, the Parks and Recreation Department said early Saturday.
A wintry mix of fog, freezing rain and a snow flurry or two was making for an interesting Friday morning commute in south-central Wisconsin, but bitter cold will be the weather story this weekend, forecasters say.
Wind chills at these levels can cause frost bite, hypothermia and even death the National Weather Service said. The Wind Chill on Monday morning may touch -15 in a few places before sunrise.

Overnight hours will see even more of a chill, with temperatures area wide below zero by 7 a.m. Sunday (-9 degrees at O’Hare and -6 at Midway, -12 in DuPage and -16 in Rockford).
